I'm very proud to announce that my baby is officially two years old, as of today! Shamefully, I admit that I've countlessly tried to replace, shut-down, renew and lock her down but to no avail.
Guess our bond's strengthened, huh baby? You listened to all my rantings. Bid my every command and unlike for some of the other users out there, you hardly ever fail me! When I say; "upload photos", you do it, and promptly too. Thus is why I love you.
And I like the fact that I can access you anywhere. And you're there when I'm lonely and you distract me when I'm down (but you also distracted me a tad too much during A's and every other major examination I had to sit through in the past two years).
I love you. You're a witness to my life, a reflection of my thoughts and a testament to my being able to keep something going (see, I don't quit halfway at everything... TSK).
Happy Birthday Baby. I have to go get ready and meet my real friends (aren't you surprised, I actually have people-friends!!!!) now.
See you when I get back :)

The second, first ever post on Broccolee.
Hello, to you, the one reading now.
I've accidentally deleted all my posts.
I backed up the files though. So I kinda have them stored away somewhere in cyberspace.
New beginnings can start anytime, yes? So why not 1st August, 2009. Sounds like a good date.
I chopped off my hair. It's hardly touching my shoulder now.
I feel strangely cleansed. Completely rid of experiences that weighed me down.
Like I've never been hurt before. Like I'm retarded and never comprehended. Like I haven't met anyone. Best of all; like I'm not afraid to give all the love, as though the world has just begun.
Whoa. Dramatic or what.

Love?
"Love" (in the romantic sense) has become such an obsession, such a must-have. We are all so fascinated with the concept of having this profoundly tender affection for another person... Or perhaps in some cases, the reverse; getting it from someone. Of course from Singapore's perspective, the product of love is what we're after, as it's supposed to help contribute to society, facilitate the otherwise natural process of replacement. Our delightful government is obviously looking into various ways to tempt the married to quickly produce offsprings and the unmarried to seek for love… all in hopes of achieving the desired replacement rate. What can be a more practical reason to love than this, really? I think the government should probably realize that you don’t have to be in love to have babies. Sex would do it just fine. BAN CONTRACEPTIVES, BAN ABORTION! Haha. I'm actually encouraging a paternalistic society here. I've gone mad. But then again, I’m sure we’re going for the more holistic, traditional approach, one that preferably will not lead to an influx of abandoned newborns in public toilets or rubbish chutes... and other unthinkable places. As much as i dislike kids, i still wouldn't want their ears to be chewed off by rodents kay.
Okay, where was I? I got a little side-tracked by our favourite problem, one that only the elite, developed countries face; the lack of babies. Oh right, so anyway, I was just wondering why love has to play such a huge part in our lives. Love has become almost a necessity- like the air that you breathe or the engine that becomes your driving force in life. It brings one’s existence to a whole new level. Suddenly everything seems to fall into place, and life has a deeper meaning. Our quest for this starts relatively early in life and I believe not everybody is lucky enough to end up having this supply of undying, unconditional love. Sure, Jason Mraz can sing all he wants about how "It's your god-forsaken right to be loved, loved, looooved!!!" but he's just bull-shitting. You tell me, do you think abusive fathers/husbands deserve to be loved? Then what about those who reject love? Should they be given a chance to accept love again? I don't know. Perhaps Mraz should have been more specific and took time off to elaborate on who/which group of people deserves to be loved. Not everbody, surely.
Anyway, it seems to be quite a trend for one to either experience love (real, pure kinda love) once (if you're lucky) and lose it to some unfortunate heart-breaking event. Other times, love just frizzles out and you just don't know how to inject love into your life again... or worse still, believe that it's just not worth the effort to rekindle that love! This is where couples start to become room-mates after a long period of time together. Oh, that is only if they can still stand to be civil with each other. Others end up bickering over the grandfather clock in court (note: GRANDFATHER CLOCK, not their children because in this generation, both parties have NO TIME to get down to business for a quick fuck or two).
Of course you’d challenge me and say that you've met couples who have managed to stay successfully in love throughout their entire lives together but I bet that’s just a minority. Love is just too much trouble, too much work and too much effort that most of us just end up giving up halfway. It truly is a dismal situation once this happens. I mean, we are all smart enough to realize that the pain we get from failed love-affairs are pretty much self-inflicted, so why bother in the first place? Why put yourself through such torture, such depressing, hopeless nights of questioning and thinking and replaying happier moments in your head- then regretting and sometimes even blaming. So why do we do this to ourselves? WHY? WHY? WHYYY???
Because we enjoy sufferring in the name of love! Irrational but true.
I guess this must be one of the underlying reasons that people have always found horrifyingly hair-raising; the fact that the world is actually irrational. After all, not everything can be explained with science, ect. Some things just... are.
We all just want to have that crazy little thing called love. And we won't rest till we're satisfied.

Love, in words.
"Love is different every time. It's nothing more than a chemical reaction really. An arrow, some signs and alphabets that make an equation. Only the elements change. Call it chemistry,if you will. When you introduce a new element, you never know how stable or strong the original bond is. You may get a new union, with something left behind;residue. I believe people can fall in love innumerable times with many different people but no two times are the same, very much like snowflakes. One love may be steady and another may be all fire. Who is to say which is better than the other. The deciding factor is how it all fits together; your love and your life."
*Taken off Yanni's entry.
I hope you don't mind me sharing this, dear, because i find it a truly accurate and fantastic representation of that little thing called love.
